Dataminr Named One of New York City's Best Places to Work

We’re very pleased to announce that Dataminr has been named one of the best places to work among mid-sized companies in New York City by Built In NYC, which specializes in finding and highlighting the nation’s best employers, as well as leaders in diversity, equity and inclusion.

As the leader of the People team at Dataminr, I’m thrilled to see our work recognized in the industry—especially given how many fantastic mid-sized companies there are in New York City. This award comes after what has been one of the most challenging years any of us have ever faced, making this recognition even more special. 

In the earliest weeks of what became the COVID-19 pandemic, Dataminr was among the first companies in New York City to proactively shut down its offices and shift to remote work. We also quickly pivoted our talent acquisition and onboarding efforts so that candidates and new hires received a top-notch virtual experience. And now, a year into the pandemic, employees who have never met their colleagues in person have still managed to make an enormous impact on our business and company culture. 

Dataminr’s leadership team talked at length about how to maintain our culture of open communication and collaboration in a fully remote environment. Our teams stepped up and found ways to stay connected to one another, both formally—with clear and empathetic internal communication—and informally, through video coffee chats, happy hours and virtual team building events. Feedback from our employees has been overwhelmingly positive, and we always look for ways to improve and grow.
