Two-Way Notification SMS Guidelines

As part of Dataminr’s two-way notification solution, the Pulse platform allows customers to send SMS messages to make their staff aware of critical events.

In the United States and Canada, end users have the choice of being part of SMS communications, including emergency notifications. Before using Dataminr’s two-way notification solution, customers should obtain any necessary approvals to send SMS messages to US and Canada-based employees.

Methods for obtaining consent include:

  1. By requesting the employees to go to a specific webpage, HR system or travel profile and input their contact details;
  2. By including the information outlined in the section below in Customer’s employee handbook or other employee-facing documentation, providing a copy of it to the employees and obtaining consent via acknowledgement of such employee-facing documentation;
  3. By sending an email with the information outlined in the section below to the employees and obtaining consent via reply email from the employee;
  4. By communicating the information outlined in the section below verbally to Customer’s employees and obtaining consent via verbal response.

To help with employee communications via the above methods, language similar to below can be utilized to obtain messaging approval:

[Customer] uses a Two-Way Notification platform to communicate with you during emergency situations and notify you of critical events. As such, you should opt-in to receiving these notifications via SMS/Text Message. Please acknowledge [consent option selected for use by Customer above] to confirm your opt-in.

The message frequency will vary, however, messages will be sent during urgent situations only as described above. Standard message and data rates may apply. At any time, you can opt-out from receiving these SMS messages by texting STOP to 36467 or the number you are receiving messages from. You will receive a one-time opt-out confirmation text message. You can also text HELP to 36467 or the number you are receiving messages from at any time to get instructions on opt-out and opting back in. Please review the applicable SMS Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy and reach out to us for any questions.
